The castle of Lejondal is located on the shore on Lake Lejondal, a nature reserve outside of Stockholm. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful and the castle with its parks is often referred to as a "fairytale castle". The castle is currently run as a conference center, a business that started out in the 1960's by Stockholm Stadsmission. Guestrooms are located in the "castle huts" right by the mainbuilding, and conferences and dining takes place in the castle. Lejondals castle is one of the youngest castles in Sweden, built as late as 1892 by Mrs Louise De Geer. The architect was one of the most popular and famous ones of that era- professor lsac Clason, who also made the Hallwyll Palace and the Nordic Museum in Stockholm, among other buildings.
